Samantha Collins

Founder, Owner, & Artistic Director

Samantha is the Founder, Owner, and Artistic Director of Newt's Movement & Performing Arts Center. Her passion for dance began at the age of four in her hometown of Newton, Kansas, where she took her very first dance class and quickly discovered a lifelong love for the art. By age six, she was competing and earned her first national title, beginning a journey that would shape her career as both a performer and educator.

After moving to the Dallas-Fort Worth area in 2006, Samantha continued to expand her training and performance experience. She has performed in numerous productions of The Nutcracker and Sleeping Beauty, toured Europe twice with Summer European Music Study/Music Celebrations International, and trained extensively in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and Acrobatics. She is also a Certified Progressive Ballet Technique (PBT) Instructor, bringing a strong emphasis on safe, effective technique and strength training into her classes.

Samantha studied dance at Collin College while earning her Associate of General Science degree before graduating from Texas A&M University–Commerce with a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Recreation Management and a minor in Business and Marketing. Her education, combined with years of industry experience, has provided the foundation for building a dance program centered on excellence, accessibility, and community.

With more than a decade of teaching experience, Samantha has dedicated her career to helping dancers grow not only in technique but also in confidence, discipline, and character. Throughout her career, she has choreographed numerous award-winning routines, coached national title winners, and mentored students who have been accepted into programs at prestigious organizations such as American Ballet Theatre and Joffrey Ballet School.

Newt's Movement & Performing Arts Center is the realization of Samantha's vision: a place where every dancer feels welcomed, challenged, and celebrated. She believes that exceptional dance education should be accessible to every family and is passionate about creating a positive environment where students of all ages and experience levels can discover their love of dance, build lifelong friendships, and develop skills that extend far beyond the studio.

For Samantha, the greatest reward isn't the awards or accolades—it's watching each student discover their confidence, achieve their goals, and leave the studio knowing they belong.
